Meeting (1/26)

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this up!  If you missed last Tuesday's meeting, this is what you missed:

Remember that the Career Workshop is this Saturday, from 9:00am-3:00pm.  Details can be found in the post right below this one, as well as in the column on the right side of this blog.  This workshop is free, and we will be exploring a wide array or careers, not just those limited to Psychology.

Even though our meetings typically take place every OTHER Tuesday afternoon, we are having another club meeting THIS Tuesday afternoon (February 2).  As always, it will be at 2:00 in room 303.

Psychology Club will be manning a booth on the first floor this upcoming week (Tuesday and Wednesday mornings).  I suppose the purpose for the booth is to recruit new members, but if you have any questions about Psychology Club or what we do, feel free to stop by.  Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to bring muffins, coffee, or anything of the like, please do.  We would greatly appreciate it.

If you are interested in participating in the Suicide Prevention Attention Network, please contact Dr. Peter Wollheim by e-mailing him at PeterWollheim@CWIdaho.cc.  For more information, you can visit SPANIdaho.org.  This will take place on September 9-10, and scholarships may be available for those who participate.

We're thinking about having a (cosmic) bowling night as a club in the near future because it will be a great way to get the club started on a positive note.  We are open to suggestions, so any input will be considered.

If you have any questions or comments that I have not addressed, feel free to e-mail me at CWIPsych@gmail.com.

Career Workshop

The CWI Psychology Club and One Stop Student Services invite you to a workshop to help you learn more about you and the life you want to create! Join us to learn more about your interests, personality, values, skills and abilities… and how they relate to your educational, career, and life goals.

When: Saturday, January 30th, 9:00am—3:00pm
Where: CWI Canyon County Campus, Rm 220
Price: FREE
RSVP: Kae Hamilton, One Stop
kaehamilton@cwidaho.cc

PS...
If you have Heather Thompson as an instructor (at least for Careers in Psychology), this workshop counts as BOTH of your out-of-class activities. That's a free 20 points and a productive use of your time.
Martha Timberlake has extra credit outlined in her syllabus, and attending this event will contribute to that.
If you have Anne Vanderlaan as an instructor, she will also give extra credit for attending.
If you have a different instructor for Psychology, personally talk to him/her about extra credit.
